Maidstone Grammar School for Girls - Feedback for Year 8

Would love to hear your feedback on Maidstone Grammar School for Girls for my Year 8 daughter.
I have read mixed reviews about it. Lack of pastoral care was one of the themes.
My daughter is academically inclined toward STEM (in particular Maths) and I am confident that she can manage the peer pressure as long as the teachers are caring & encouraging. I noticed that school doesn't have a lot of diversity (though it looks much better than some other Grammar schools in Kent).
I currently live in London and would have to Maidstone for this school.

Thank you in advance

You are not guaranteed a place by moving to Maidstone.

Have you considered RGS, op? More diverse if that's what you're after and ranks highly on league tables. That would require the Medway entrance exam/ 11 plus vs Kent. But again, that doesn't guarantee a spot.

Considered good locally and alot of people prefer it over the more pressurised Invicta girls grammar.

Have you read the admissions policy or are you panning to move to Maidstone in year 5 as 11+ exam is in early September. Not sure when you have to apply by to do the test.

Maidstone also has a new-ish STEM school which is very popular.

update - just seen your daughter is in year 8. Need to check in-year admissions.

Thank you. This is very helpful.

Yes, we are planning to go through in-year admission route.

Good to know that Maidstone has STEM focus as that aligns with our priority. I didn't know that its preferred more than Invicta as I thought that Invicta is more sought after due to its better academic performance.

I guess you are referring to The Rochester Grammar School? Thanks for the pointer. I will find out more on this.
