Sawston Village College - any opinions/reviews welcome!

Hello,
We are currently living in Cambridge. The secondary school in our catchment is not very good, hence, we are considering moving to Sawston. I do not see any recent reviews on Mumsnet about Sawston Village College. My child is good academically but is nervous about making new friends in a secondary school where she might have none of her friends from her primary school. Any opinions about the school are much appreciated. Thank you!

Possibly an odd question but is your child musical? If so, she would probably have an instant way into new friendship groups, as the music (and drama) there is very strong, with junior and senior choirs, orchestras, bands and links to Sawston Youth Drama for musical theatre. I know all of those are still gong strong as we still get invitations to the concerts!

I'd ring or email them and ask to talk through your concerns about starting without knowing anyone. Mine did too, and they were very approachable about it at that time.
