Would we mad to go for a scholarship place at Mill Hill Belmont instead of potentially an ordinary place at St Albans boys?

Thoughts appreciated as I’m going slightly bonkers weighing up the pros and cons

What are the terms of the scholarship? Is it guaranteed for their duration. If not and it gets pulled, could you financially afford to keep your child there? That’s a huge consideration particularly once she’s settled with friends etc. I say this by seeing how much the MH group have upped their fees over the past few years compared to others….

Thank you @PlaneNoiz th scholarship has no monetary value but we are hoping it will elevate the standard for of DS’ education

What’s the point?

afewtoomanychoices · 19/01/2025 18:35

Absolutely go for st A if no monetary value

Thank you all

@afewtoomanychoices the coach is an hour for DS for St Albans but Belmont is a twenty minute drive away. If St Albans was nearer I think we would do it but I don’t know if DS will cope with such long days and then a long coach…

can I ask please what would you do in this situation? I wonder if we can defer the St Albans place to 13+ when he’s more ready…
