City of London school 13+ interview

Our DS has been offered an interview at City in January for 13+ entry in 2027. We were surprised to find out it is being done online rather than in person. Has anyone else been offered an interview and is it also online or in person?

Yes, City does all the interviews online. Not ideal but it works. Upside is that kids get to do it in the comfort of their own home. Interview apparently involves memory tests and logic puzzles.

I think all of CLS’s interviews have been online since covid. I don't know why they haven't gone back to in-person, it seems like it would be harder for both sides to have a normal conversation and to get to know the candidate/school.

Is that for City Boys, 13+ (not 11+)? All the other posts on here have been people being offered online interviews!

Thanks for replying. It seems a bit odd that they would do some in person and some online!

@igigig is your son up for any scholarships? They may conduct interviews differently for that as there could be additional in-person assessments and might combine that with the interview.

Does anyone know what the interviews at City of London Boys are like ? We have a face to face one as well, for 11+ coming up . No idea what to expect.
