Hi,

Are there any parents dropping their kids from TW2 area to Richmond park academy and willing to car pool or other options. We are planning to enrol our 2 boys (11 and 14 yrs) to RPA and will need support in school runs.

@Sid3033 secondary school students usually make their own way to school. They can get the 33 bus from Twickenham to RPA. Takes about 50 mins.

@Sid3033 , yes use the bus. Where are your ds currently at school?

Sid3033 · 06/12/2024 17:46

We have just moved to the UK, hence the in year admission.

Good luck with the transition and get your dc use to using the bus system.

Did you consider Twickenham school or Hampton High as a bit nearer?

At 11 and 14 your children will be absolutely fine on the bus. It's not a complicated journey if they get the 33.

We r far behind on the waiting list on those 2 schools

From what I am seeing on the maps 33 is not a direct bus we have to go on 490 and 33 or 110 and 33

Even two buses will be OK. My daughter did a journey of similar length from age 11. She was on the bus and then tube. We did a couple of practice runs, then I took her and picked her up on the first day and she was fine from then on. Children in London get free bus travel and they all get very used to getting themselves around very quickly. Best of luck.
