Would we get a place at the Saffron Walden County High School?

Hi, everyone!
We are about to relocate to Saffron Walden, we just accepted an offer on our house and would probably move in a few months. Our DS is currently year 5 and we will commute to school until he finishes primary school so that there aren't too many changes at once.
We have been looking at houses in SW for a while now but our search area is limited as we are looking not too far from the secondary school in SW to make sure we get in. However, there are some very lovely houses in this new estate on the far eat side of the town (south of Tesco's) and I would really like to know what our chances are of getting into the SWCH school. From our research so far it seams that the catchment area is becoming smaller every year due to the newbuils.
What was your experience when you applied from that area of the town?

A family from NW London here in the same boat. First house viewing in SW within the next couple of weeks. Wondering if you learnt more since your post. Little one currently in yr4.

Hi @Dadtaxi9 unfortunately we haven't had any new information since I last posted. We now are in the process of buying a house in SW and we went for a house that is relatively close to the secondary just to increase our chances. Because there are so many new houses being built in SW and so many new people moving to SW, it's probably fair to assume that the catchment area also shrinks every year the more people move in the area. As nice as those houses in the new neighborhoods around SW are, I don't think you can et in from there.
