South Oxfordshire schools for a high performing boy with ASD

Can anyone help with schools in South Oxfordshire for a sensitive, anxious boy with ASD who performs very well academically across the board, is not sporty (but is musical & creative). His ASD support needs are mainly social — he is extremely shy and struggles with making friends due to social anxiety though does want to have friends. He’s at a village primary currently. State secondary options include Wallingford or John Mason. Any thoughts on those? I’m not ruling out independent schools, though it would be a bit of a financial stretch for us. Looked at Cranford House. Wondering about Abingdon School, though I’ve heard it’s not good with SEN. At a push could think about Oxford independent schools, though not sure about MCS. I’m keen for the school and its culture to be caring.

I would recommend Wallingford, I think it's much better than John Mason. Have you had a look at OLA? They have a good SEN department.

Close by you could look at Chilworth House, Cherwell and Iffley Academy - they are on the outskirts of Oxford but guessing from the JM/Wallingford that you would be able to get to east side of Oxford by A4074.
