Has anyone's DD ever received a 'not likely to get one of the 15 language place' result to their test gone on to actually get a language place?
Not a chance to get an open place due to distance from school, and not church goers. As I'm filling the caf form, I'm tempted to list the school anyway. Just wondering if that ever happened.

I don't know the answer to your question but if you put the school down on your form it doesn't lose you anything apart from a slot on the form. It makes it no less likely that you will get a place at the school you list second is what I mean.

So unless you only have three slots and have other long shots too then you may as well list it first, if it is your actual first preference.

Hey I know it's probably too late now, but you can actually study for language aptitude tests. We did that with my DC and got into Hockerill College despite being out of area and non-church-goers too. Seems a lot of schools use these tests as well as music and art aptitude.

Congratulations to your DC on achieving a place at their preferred school. Was this a long time ago, though, as there is no mention of church attendance of any denomination being relevant in the current admissions policy for Hockerill?
