Hello,
The choice for secondary schools isn't great around us. DD is doing a few scholarship tests for very good schools not in our catchment area (fingers crossed), but there are 3 local schools she could realistically get in if she doesn't get a scholarship.
Out of the 3, North Brent School is by far the best one academically, and it also happens to be the closest to us (0.39 mile). The other 2 don't challenge the pupils like NBS and their results aren't great (average to lower than national results). DD is currently in an average performing primary school. We're told she's really bright and can do really well, but she lacks motivation. We know she needs more discipline and teachers who push and expect more from pupils, so NBS is our preferred school. However, the open day was underwhelming, and the HT talk felt a bit dry.
Anyone has experience with what school life is like at NBS (or WHTC)?
