My DS is 16 has an EHCP for ASD , anxiety and possible adhd. I would say he completely struggled with the transition to secondary school, and did not complete any of the school years, not helped by lockdowns, ear infections and high anxiety. In fact, he stopped school in spring 2024, so he has no GCSEs.
Due to some further issues (i won't apportion blame), his college place named on the EHCP fell through, and there has been some wrangling over getting him into a Level 1 or foundation course.
The EHCO (for whom I've developed some mistrust over the years) says that as he did a full set of mocks at his previous school - with the schools help and medical evidence we should contact the exam boards to try to get his mock results from year 10 converted into actual grades. One of them was an EAL level 1 exam.
Should we pursue this or is she talking rubbish?
