Charterhouse, Bedales or Cranleigh for 6th Form

Hello, I have twin girls looking for a new school for 6th form. Bright & creative with particular interests in Drama, History, English and Classics. They're good independent workers. All these schools seem really different and we're booked for open days but would love to hear from parents with recent first hand experience 😊

Are you looking for boarding or day places?

PoisedOrca · 04/06/2024 13:29

@tennissquare Thanks for your question, they will be Day places.

Sorry I can't help as parent and bumping up for you but they are all really different and to be honest the A Level results at Bedales are pretty weak. Charterhouse will have a much more rigorous admissions process.

Have you subscribed to the good schools guide to get more insight?

Bedales is a more relaxed environment and that very much suits some DC. Charterhouse is more competitive! Have you considered Queenswood School in Hertfordshire. Not comparable with Charterhouse but absolutely ace for Drama. The Good Schools Guide gives info. It’s not co Ed though.

on the other hand, i very much think bedales has a strong curriculum and academia. however if your child lacks motivation and has no initiative when it comes to their academics, they probably wouldn't get very good a levels. my good friend agatha and I went in the 90's and had a hoot of a time, and are both very successful.
