Hello this is a long thread. Last year my daughter lost her appeal; we had lots of information: she has anxiety was undiagnosed , struggles with transitions, separated from her whole peer group, going to school alone, walking route not safe, I work on the nursery on the school campus, partner works away so I’m the only one to pick all my children up, other children attend the primary school on the same campus, the headteacher wrote a letter stating how the appeals process was affecting my daughter already and fears what will happen, we live mere meters out of the gpa, (and other children managed to win their appeals who live a couple of streets away from me)
I tried to carry on fighting with admissions but didn’t get very far. Fast forward she started school, she’s struggled, she’s been referred to mhst at school for support, shes been diagnosed with social anxiety in all elements of her life not just at school, she’s been terrorised by multiple children, pushed into tables, hair pulled, sent very disturbing messages for 11 year old girls. I have been accepted this far for a second appeal on grounds of significant change of circumstance due to being referred to mhst.
I am very anxious, I myself was severely ill with anxiety last year (something I have never experienced, due to the whole process) if I have to meet the panel again does anyone have any advice that could help me or point me in the right direction thank you. I haven’t told my daughter for fear of another loss and to not get her hopes up. I did speak to the head of the preferred school who told me I need to apply for a change of circumstance appeal.
