Hi Mums,
We moved out of London to the Milton Keynes area, and now need to look at secondary schools. Anyone got experience of Bedford modern vs Bedford Greenacre? I think Bedford Greenacre formed from Rushmoor School and St Andrew's School but I can't seem to find much information about it like I do for the others. Any info about it would be much appreciated :) (i.e. is it worth compared to Bedford Modern and pastoral care, school in general, I can't seem to find it in the rankings either so I am a bit lost, really! Many Thanks in advance!

Hi, do you still need info on this?

We did BMS prep school and I was extremely happy with that compared with the other independent options. We moved out of the area, otherwise we would have remained with BMS for senior school as well. Rushmoor and St Andrews were seen as less academic options before the merger.

Bedford Modern is selective whereas Greenacre is not.

I believe the latter has much experience with special needs - dyslexia etc.

My DS went to Bedford Modern for Years 3 - 13 It is a fantastic school, especially when the fees are so much cheaper than rival Bedford School.

It does depend on his academic your DC is whether he suits Bedford Modern or Greenacre. Greenacre is having a new site built to cater for the merger with St Andrew's/ Rushmoor.

All children I know that have been have been happy at Rushmoor/ St Andrew's.

The best schools for sporty children is Bedford School / Bedford Girls School over either of the two above.
