Henrietta Barnett 2024 waiting list movement

Fahmin · 15/03/2024 10:47

My DD's waiting list ranking on HBS is 38. Last year, the last one offered was 46, 2022 was 55 and 2021 was 57. So, I am now keeping my fingers crossed.

Please use this thread to update us on any offer you have received so that the rest of us on the waiting list can estimate whether we are likely to get an offer.

Please let update as follows:

Waiting list rank: XX
Date of offer: DD/MM

Thanks

I think they will start offering from waitlist by week starts 25th March. from past years trend waitlist 38 may clear by July.

Hi, I heard last year in September also lots of waiting lists got clear for HBS..I am sure u will be through.

HBS1985 · 28/03/2024 12:22

HBS website says 17 from waitlists have offered place..but not sure they got it or still waiting to hear from council…

Report
Hbs2ndstage · 29/03/2024 13:27

Normally 17 clears by Kate April. Why are so many rejecting HBS this year?

Report
Fahmin · 17/04/2024 13:22

Any idea of current position? or How many of the 17 actually accepted the offer?

HBS website says
"Second-round offers have been made to the top 17 on the waiting list and all places have now been accepted."

Can we expect any further movement?

I think there will be no further movement this year in hbs. All the places have been accepted..so any idea how it use to be in orevious years..

I emailed HB admissions today and currently there is no further movement and it is hard to predict what this movement would be over the next few months leading up to September. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

They will update the website if any further changes.

Complete speculation here, but I wonder if the likely addition of VAT to private school fees by a Labour government is leading to more parents accepting offered places at QEB? In the past I suspect greater numbers may have turned down QEB in favour of independent.

As I say, total speculation but it may explain less WL movement than in previous years.

I’m not sure if your speculation holds. Two years ago, in September, the waiting list (WL) for QE boys reached number 22. This year, it’s already at WL 21, and there are still five months to go.
