Dear Mums,
My daughter scored 363 in Kent exam. We added TOG( Tonbridge Grammar School) as our first choice. We living less than a mile from a school. 375 is the cut off area score offered on National day. Any hope to get into tog ? Thanks

Nothing to lose going the waiting list, you never know. But do accept the school off you’ve been given (Weald? TWGGS?) There’s reallocation round in about 10 days and even if you don’t gain a place then, the school then takes control of the waiting list and you stay on it unless you notify them that you wish to come off. I don’t think distance will make a difference, pretty sure it’s purely score based (but I stand to be corrected). Offers can be made up to January 2025 as far I’m aware, so there’s time if you’re willing to wait that long.

Thank you so much for your valuable information. Our second preference is TWGGS, unfortunately we didn’t get our second, 3rd and 4th choice. We staying 3.4 miles away from TWGGS but they offered up to 3.2 miles . Daughter missed just in 0.2 miles ! They offered Maidstone as we recently moved to Tonbridge . Worrying how we send our daughter to Maidstone alone as nee place. Even we can’t shift also as locked in 1 year agreement . Only hope is second allocation and waiting list . Thanks

According to this

the lowest score the third round of TGS offers has gone to in the last 5 years is 367, so I think it's unlikely it will go down to 363 this year.

We are in a similar situation. Will you give us any update on this?? Did your daughter manage to get into Tog or TWGGs in the end? Thx 🙂

Hi

My daughter has sat even plus this month .

she plans to apply for TOG as my other daughter daughter is in TOG

I have few queries of anyone can help

how much extra marks are given for so long in same school?

what favor she gets if she was born in March 2915 ?

Thank you so much

Assuming you mean is there any benefit in the admission criteria for having a sibling in school, then no, there is not.

there are no criteria relating to the existing School she is in.

The Kent test does standardise on month of birth, but a March birthday is pretty much bang in the middle of the age range.
