St CD is a highly sought after school. Gets great results. I've not heard that they have higher bullying, poor behaviours etc than other local schools.

I don't know about their pastoral resources.

Traffic is always a nightmare though.

Check out their Progress 8 scores on county council website.

What did you think of the school when you visited?

Which does your DC prefer?

Only have experience of NH. It has been fantastic. Huge selection of GCSE options and a raft of extra curricular options. Exam results often better than some of the local private schools. My eldest now being taken through Oxbridge application process

Staff are generally well respected and behaviour is broadly very good.

School had ofsted at the end of last year and retained outstanding. Head is about to retire but incoming head has good reputation.

Please can I also ask which you live near? If you have a place in Chorley wood I assume you’re not local to Nower Hill. One of my daughters friends was only a couple of streets out of catchment for NH and was in the 40s on the waiting list so it’s a massive long shot on criteria based selection that you would get a place anyway I would have thought.

(Ah unless it’s a looked after child?)

May I ask what street your friend was on where they missed out on NH? I mean I don't want their address but with a street I can work out the approx distances. I have seen the latest catchment areas guide but would still like to know as a real life example - esp how quickly the waiting list rises.

May I also ask - did they get into Nower after being on the waitlist?

Hi. I’m so sorry I don’t actually know which road it was an oft discussed topic by mums at the school gates but I wasn’t close enough to the mum to get details. But she did eventually move to NH, yes
