Hello everyone, I need to apply for 6th form for my DS, who is academic. We are international family and I am looking for a boarding school that will support his academic strengths, pastoral care, diversity etc He is looking to sit 4 A levels.

I have met with representatives of all 3 schools and they seem very nice. I will visit the schools at somepoint later in the year but I honestly would rather visit just 2 schools (and apply to just 2) not all 3.

It would be very helpful for me if I can have some feedback or thoughts on these schools to guide me. THANK YOU!!!

I would go for Lancing or Kingswood Bath. Quite different schools so best to visit and see what school best suits your DS.

Kingswood probably better in the pastoral and Lancing probably better on the academics, but that is based on 20 year old information!!

So definitely visit and make your own decision.

Not sure why previous poster discounted Bromsgrove. I would definitely look at it for 6th form because (as well as ordinary boarding houses) 6th formers have the option of Houseman hall which is a dedicated 6th form house just outside the school grounds. Popular with international students and many think it’s a useful stepping stone to uni.
