Has anyone any previous experience of gaining an offer (paid place) and being n.1
on bursary wait list? Is there hope before the deadline of 5th March when acceptance/deposit payment is due…

Is it a full bursary? I'd be surprised if someone turned that down.

Yes full bursary. I am aware of at least 3 DCs that have been offered full bursaries for 3-4 schools so they will inevitably accept one and refuse the rest. None of these are FHS however so it's no use to us but definitely will make a few DCs happy that are waiting for bursary places to be confirmed!😅

Yes there are always ppl who hold 2-3 bursary offers. We turned down a FHSS bursary offer a few years ago so I think being no 1 on their waiting list there should be a good chance, especially after state school offers are out (I think some may choose a Greycoat Hospital offer, for example)

We have just received our bursary offer after being placed 1st on the waitlist! It was an anxious wait but thrilled DD will be able to start in September!

Well done!! Did you have a paid place before and have to pay deposit? It’s a tricky one! Glad all sorted for you though! Exciting!

Yes they offered a full fee place initially but we didn’t have to pay deposit until after the initial deadline date and until the bursary offer was reviewed.

We are the same situation, my DS got an offered place, but on bursary waiting list, hoping we got lucky to waiting for the bursary. But now is already in grammar school. Not sure if we still need to independent school
