Hello,
Just wanted to check what people are doing who live in Hemel Hempstead for going to Grammar school. I mean are you moving out to Grammar school catchment?.

The reason being there are no Grammar school here and Hemel Hempstead doesn't fall in the catchment of any Grammar school. So, wanted to find out what options parents are having?
Also, wanted to find out how is the Hemel Hempstead school?

It will be really helpful if someone could throw some light on the topic. It is very confusing, my daughter is good academically and wanted to find out.

The only way to ensure you get a grammar place (assuming your child passes) is to actually live in Bucks or in the catchments for the SW consortium tests. Hemel is not in either of these.

Sometimes children do get places at Chesham Grammar who live the Boxmoor side of Hemel but it’s getting increasingly rare.

Hemel Hempstead School is actually an extremely good comprehensive. As are Ashlyns and Kings Langley in the neighbouring towns.

Hemel Hempstead school has a good reputation.

What year is your DD currently in?

If you want a Bucks grammar, move to Bucks. Look up the catchment maps for the Bucks grammars and live in the area.
