SHHS, Channing and FHRP dilemma

DD was fortunate enough to receive offers from SHHS, Channing and FHRP. We did not think we would be in such a position and so are unsure as to which one to proceed with. DD enjoys drama, art and the more creative subjects. She has not had many oppurtunities from her primary school to participate in sport and music but is eager to try these out. DD had great tours of all 3 and is not sure what to do next. She will be going to the Offer Holders' events which will hopefully clarify things but if anyone has any advice it will be gratefully received.

SHHS is an incredible secondary school. The other two are nothing special - that would be my take.

SHHS if fantastic , I would personally not turn down. However your DDs happiness is the most important. I think unfortunately as parents we try make the best decisions on schools based on results etc but kids can thrive and make friends in all sorts. It’s impossible to judge later on. Out of all 3 FHRP would personally be my least favourite of the 3

surely the commute for each one relevant - hard to live equidistant to all 3?

Similar position, so doing the round of offer events. The warmth and friendliness of FH seems genuine and has really stood out so far. I don’t think that can be staged. They’re all great schools capable of getting the best out of very lucky, able children so I think the ‘happy factor’ will be the deciding one for us.

A Dad here.

I would be very interested & grateful to know thoughts wrt FHRP vs Channing? Both seem to do an excellent job on pastoral of course; overall Channing has more space, art is seemingly better provided for with great rooms at the top of the school (FHRP the Art felt like an afterthought & a bit pokey? Or is this being too harsh?); with Channing having the edge with good sports facilities (I’m not concerned about no pool) - plus it seems they are building a new facility for Science & DT (open Sept 2025). FHRP has no DT, few onsite sports options, art seems cramped. On these measures it seems to me that Channing gets the proverbial nod.

but what about academics? Looking at Leaver Destinations it seems Channing edges it on that lens at least but do any current parents have strong views about how much progress (beyond what should be expected) either school instills in particular subjects?

Both sets of girls came across as very engaged and enthusiastic, and happy, most importantly (even taking into any account selection bias!). Any insights appreciated! Thank you.
