Academic scholarship Dulwich College 13+

Hello! My son got a place at Dulwich College to start in Y9 through the 13+. He is now in Y8 and has the academic scholarship test coming up this month. The school website says it's not necessary to study. Does anyone know what type of Qs he can expect? Is it a comprehension/ creative writing? Or a logic test?
Thanks in advance!

Health warning - ds sat this 5 years ago so may have changed.

You can't prepare for it other than trying to be up to speed with current affairs. It was a very open ended essay title asking him to comment on how Trumpism would affect the world.... I can't remember if there were any other elements but that was definitely one.

Good luck to your ds.

Scholarships for Year 9 entrants are based on the admission exams that everyone sits, then boys already at the school and deferred entry candidates also sit an exam. They're broadly similar as they need to compare all the groups. Parents of boys already in the school aren't given any information either.

You could ring the admissions department to check which subjects are covered, and I expect it'll be in line with the 13+ sample papers that are published on their website

The exam was nothing like the 13+ papers on the website fyi......

Thanks - can you advise the type of Qs your son got in the exam? Is it about current affairs?

It's a reasoning-based test plus an essay.
