Hi everyone,
We recently relocated in London and looking for a secondary school for DD for year 7(in-year admission). Being new, we are also looking for rented place as well. Would be great to listen about these schools from parents and also area?

Thanks in advance!

Well, if it's the QE Girls I know, it's in Barnet, and the other one is Clapton, so 2 very different areas.
I think best to ring the schools and find out if they have any in-year vacancies, then consider your options. I know QE is often oversubscribed, but in-year vacancies do occur randomly.
Barnet is mostly nice, pleasant shopping area and coffee shops etc, but it is not really London, and right at the end of the tube line. It's not as cosmopolitan as some other North London areas. Clapton is more urban, but haven't been there recently so hopefully someone else can tell you what it's like nowadays.

Thank you @DelphiniumBlue Do you have any idea about sports facilities in QE and how is the school overall? Their Ofstead inspection was done in 2016, so not sure what's the current scenario.

From what I know it’s a very high performing school, and there are good sports facilities. Have a look at the website, as my knowledge is a bit out of date, but I think there’s a swimming pool as well as a sports complex.

I live in Hackney and my DD goes to Clapton Girls. You can check on the Hackney Education website to see what in year places are available across all the schools in the Borough. Its over subscribed so I imagine you'd have to move as close to the school as possible unless there are other criteria that would put your DD higher on the waiting list above the distance criteria. We are very happy with the school as are most people we know who's children go there. We have lived in this area for many years. It is urban, diverse and highly populated but there is also great access to green spaces, parks and forests in Hackney. If you have specific questions, you can DM me? Good luck!
