Feedback on Cranmore Senior School in West Horsley

Hi,

This is my first message here. DS who is in RGS Prep in Guildford is currently taking 11+ exams. We are not sure that he will be able to pass RGS senior school exam and although the reputation is impeccable, he is not so keen to go there.
Cranmore school has a senior school now (no grads yet - not proven itself yet). We visited it and liked it. He took the exams and we received an offer today.

Cranmore school is going through some change (looks like senior school is still trying to find its identity). I wanted to ask if there are any other Cranmore senior school parents here and what they think of their school. DS is not madly academic but he coped with RGS prep. However, I would like him to be happier without so much pressure that we all felt during his time in RGS Prep.

Any advice will be appreciated.

No direct experience but a good friend has children there (including senior school). and she’s very happy with the school. She says they are very nurturing and good pastoral care. Kids very happy.

My son is in the senior school and very happy. The pastoral care and support is really excellent. We have been really impressed. Academically he’s doing really well. I have nothing to compare it with, only from what friends with boys at other schools say, but it does seem pretty fast paced and demanding at times. I definitely feel they’ll be super prepared for GCSE.
