It's a Harris and they are very rigid.

I know a few from DCs schools who went there and some friends chose it for their kids. It relies on being a sought after school!

Harris are perfectly fine schools if you have a good kid. If they have a spark, are arty, or have any kind of support need they're lacking. They churn out kids with reasonable grades and find ways to manipulate the system to look like they have good results (educating poor performers off site etc). DD went to an 'outstanding' one and we didn't consider it for DS who went to a different local school.

I know 2 families with 3 kids between them who removed their kids from the Crystal Palace one as they found pastoral care lacking, especially after lockdown. The turnover of staff is shocking and they work NQTs to the bone.

BUT if you are new to the area, take it, it is the better of a bad lot!

Exactly what @IamSallyBowles said - if you have a good, hardworking child, they are successful. If not, .......

Personally I wouldn’t want a child of mine at a Harris school but that’s because I’m a teacher who has seen a few Harris academies in my time. No idea about that particular one. Harris academy ideology is very rigid. Be prepared for inflexible policies.
