Kingsdale Foundation banding test for 24/25 intake

Selected Kingsdale Foundation as one of DD's secondary schoolsl choices, but haven't heard anything about booking in for the banding test, which start on 27th Nov according to their admission info.

Supposed to be written to with details of how to register, but the post in our area is awful at the moment- sometimes go a week without mail then a massive pile of post arrives - so concerned we'll miss any correspondence.

I've phoned the school and left a couple of messages on the admissions ansaphone but no-ones got back to me

Had anyone heard from the school yet?

Thanks.

Heard nothing. Not very impressed.

We've only just heard about the banding tests in Bromley and it was a holding message not actual info.

Schools are very Lastminute.com...

Haven’t heard either. Had the Lambeth one at Norwood last week.

casuarinatree · 24/11/2023 10:25

They usually send all this stuff through by email - are they sitting the banding tests remotely this year again?

Just had a look at my emails for 2 years ago when we did this and the email was sent on 26 November - I do remember it felt very, very last minute.

Wafflesandcrepes · 25/11/2023 10:38

It was very last minute a few years ago too. Expect parents to drop everything at the last minute. They never learn. If they can’t administer these useless banding tests, they shouldn’t have them!

OhCrumbsWhereNow · 25/11/2023 18:03

When we did them a few years ago, we heard via email on 21st Nov for a test on 7th December. They had 4 dates available and up to 5 different time slots on the allocated day.

Not sure they are useless - they used them for setting in Y7 (no SATS that year due to Covid), and there would be a gazillion complaints if they didn't have a spread of high/middle/lower achievers.

Do flag if your child has SEN as they will get the usual access arrangements/extra time etc in them.

Thanks all, keeping an eye out for an email (nothing so far). Just relieved it's not by post.

I've just received an email. It is online and can be done from home any time between 1 Dec and 17 Dec.

JoannaDW · 29/11/2023 18:08

Me too. Same process. Can be completed online. Good luck all

Paxlmw · 29/11/2023 22:22

Phew, so glad to have heard, and a relief it's online as that reduces the stress for DD. Best of luck everyone.
