Merchant Taylor 11+ Maths Harder Than Other Exams?

Hi, my DS will be sitting several 11+ exams shortly and we are going through past papers.

He can complete on time exams such as Highgate, Latymer, UCS but Merchant Taylor is the one school he can't complete on time. His accuracy is good but the questions seem to be more time consuming than other schools.

Are others finding the same? Or is MT a harder school to get into than the others hence they have a higher benchmark?

Hi @roses2, they seem to have made the maths and general paper harder this time. My nephew has just donated it yesterday. How was your DCs experience?

Done* not donated, don't know how to edit!!

Exam difficulty is not the same as intake difficulty. So no, can not finish a paper doesn't automatically imply that the school have a higher benchmark.

He found it on par with the practise papers - which were difficult.

If your nephew was in the group where one loud boy instigated the arm wrestle during the break that was my DS 😂
