Does anyone have recent input on LSU? It seems it was quite popular up until rather recently, but it’s taken a dive. I went to the open day and liked many aspects of it, but it also seemed a bit off. There wasn’t any buzz and I felt many of the girls looked bored. However, I liked the curriculum options and that there are lots of school trips. Also, whilst we live relatively far away and are not Catholic, it seems DD could still get in.

Maybe your daughter has innate musical ability. That’s what the first Assesment is testing. The second is musicality. I know people assume/think that it’s only the musical prodigious who obtain one of the music places, but if you’ve read previous threads you’ll see there are plenty of those who haven’t got places.

I think she does have a bit of innate musical ability which is why I was thinking of having her give it a go. We’ll see I guess!

It does seem like a lot of exams for a kid. But I’m sure there are others sitting the 11+ exams who do more.

Have you been to CSG yet? What did you both think? And has Parli had their open day?

We’ll be going to CSG and Parli open evenings next week. I visited them both last year and liked them a lot. I hope DD ends up being open to places other than LSU! The girls who gave our tour were very nice, plus there were a lot of biscuits — don’t know if anywhere else can beat that! 😅
