Mocks are on the horizon - trying to help DC with revision. We have a long car journey over half term and I thought I’d download some YouTube videos for dc to watch (yes I am that parent). Can anyone recommend some? Science and English - poetry would be amazing.

FreeScienceLessons is a classic

There was a lot of love for Mr Bruff for English in this house

Thisisnotmyname2022 · 15/10/2023 16:37

Mr everything English is also good. Defo free science lessons too!

Mr Salles on YouTube for English. My daughter worked really hard using his videos and went from a 3 to a 7 in English Lit in 10 weeks. Really recommend.

My daughter loves the free science lessons. I think k they are 5 minutes a time and cover a specific thing each.

Iknownothing · 15/10/2023 16:44

Amazing! Thank you!

They aren't the best, but Primrose Kitten for Science is worth a go as she does whole exam paper revision videos that are usually no more than 30 to 45 mins long.

FreeScience lessons: the guy is a legend .DS would have crashed and burnt without his videos

This a hundred times.

This a hundred times.

But possibly soon to be No to both, for a certain proportion of year 11, unless they watch on mum / dad / sibling / older classmates device...? Or would GCSE level content videos have to move to YouTube Kids, assuming that that platform would escape the under 16 ban?
