Any experiences of Sexeys school in Bruton

I realise this is a bit of a needle in a haystack request but we’re looking for a sixth form school for dd as her school finishes at GCSEs. There’s a couple of options and Sexeys is one as there’s a minibus from near where we live even though it’s 30 minutes away (no catchment schools here go beyond GCSEs as there’s a focus on the local college… which is in special measures).

I don’t know any parents with dc at the school and it all feels very unknown so any experiences would be welcome.

No dc there but I do hear good things. I would suggest going to have a look if you can. No idea if they have open days for sixth form, but I always prefer to go on a normal day if I can so you can see past the gloss all schools put on!

Yes, we went last night and the teacher’s passion really impressed me. They seemed to have a really good rapport with the students and had infectious enthusiasm. We have one other option so will compare.

My friend has a daughter there. Not 6th form though. The daughter is extremely bright and they are very pleased with the teaching and the school in general.

Thanks to cold. I’ve not heard anything bad (which makes me slightly suspicious as usually someone has a moan). It’s definitely a strong option.
