Can anyone tell me what this school is really like please. Is there much bullying or disruption in lessons? I'm not so much worried about the academics, more about the behaviour of the kids and how staff deal with challenging kids in and out of the classroom. Does it have a friendly/welcoming feel? We have been to an open evening and I liked it but my DS is not sure. We don't live in Solihull and so don't get to hear from other parents what it's like. I have a sensitive DS and really want to find him a friendly, supportive school.

Anyone have any experience of this school? Thanks.

Bumping this thread for you, hopefully someone with direct experience of HofE can help. I'm local and didn't send my DC there but know many who did and are happy, some of whom I'd class as sensitive. Our local Facebook page does at times highlight mixed behaviour though I think you'd experience that in many schools. I'd recommend joining the local BC Facebook page as many in the village send their children there so you'd hopefully get a broader view.

OP, maybe ask MNHQ to edit your title. It's a bit confusing as there is a Solihull School in Solihull town centre.

Have you also considered Henley in Arden School which is smaller and has a good reputation for pastoral care. The only people ai know who sent their DC to HoE were happy with the school but that was a a few years ago now.

Thanks for your advice. Is Balsall Common the main area the kids come from for Heart of England School?

It's in the centre of BC and the catchment secondary for the town and surrounding areas. Some children also travel in from parts of Coventry and out towards Chelmsley Wood, or at least they used to, I don't know if that's still the case, so a mix.
