Does anyone aware of the process for in-year school admission (Year 8) at Perse?
Also, have any of you had a positive experience in picking up the level of performance of a child after moving to Perse due to its competitive environment?

I thought it was money that got you in. I know someone there on a scholarship who says the other boys weren't very bright. Is this not true?

Wow Treesar- the child you know must be a total genius if the other kids aren’t that bright! OP - in year at the Perse will be difficult for any child however, if they accept your child in the school must believe that they will be able to cope! Good Luck.

@Treesar's experience mirrors mine. There's a difference between the concepts of 'competitive' and 'academic'....

Thanks all. It's helpful to know what other parents think.
I agree, there is a difference between those two concepts. To me without competition (could be self or non-self), there is no progression.

I'm a parent now but it was a close friend at university who went there and shared their experience.

It makes sense that it is very competitive. I suspect that leads to success in life, even if they aren't all natural academics.

If you are looking to hear experiences though, he said there was a culture of bullying when he went. Obviously, this is common in many schools but something to keep an eye on.
