So our secondary school sent out a form to complete if your child in year 8 or 10 was interested in going to France next year with the school including Disney Land for £490ish per pupil.
There’s 2-300 pupils per year and let’s be honest, what pre teen and teen doesn’t want to go to Disney Land with their peers so I assumed there would be high interest regardless of the price.
Received an email tonight stating ‘due to high interest, after a random name selection generator is completed, pupils will be chosen based on ATL scores, Attendance, Class Chart Scores and School conduct.
My child is average-good all round however, surely they can’t discriminate based on attendance and class scores?! Ok I get the school conduct and attention in class scores I’m just concerned that children who have been unwell and unable to attend school or perhaps children with undiagnosed ADHD etc will be disregarded because of these scoring systems.
