I'll appreciate your thoughts about the culture in these schools please.
Any info at all... perceptions, observations etc.
They all seem really good schools academically.
Are the students generally well behaved? Which tend to be better on discipline?
A friend has her son in St Clement Danes and her daughter at Dr Challoner's and says Dr Challoner has more positive peer pressure in her opinion and pupils have a much better educational experience. Another friends says same of Dame Alice Owens and another of WGGS. I don't have friends with Children at the others.
Are the teachers tough on bullying/racism?
We're a mixed race family - English and African.
My understanding is Bucks is Asian and White and Herts is White and a fair mix of other races. Visited Haddenham and it seemed different to Amersham, Chesham and HW for example.
A bit worried about our children being the only black-mixed race in the year for example.
Do they have a good extra curricular/ sports offering?
Is it better value to buy in a cheaper area in Hertfordshire and go private? Buckinghamshire is nice but a schlep to London.
HW seems handy for ethnic food. Finsbury Park and Enfield are reachable from Berkhamstead but Tring seems far out.
Do pupils from Tring get into Buckinghamshire grammars?
Thanks for your thoughts.
