Has anyone else got an email to Verify your Satchel One email address? It seems dodgy?

Hi Mr. John Smith,

Before you have unrestricted access to your Satchel One parent account you need to verify your email.
Please click here and login to complete verification

Kind regards
Team Satchel

I've removed the link but it looked quite dodgy?
Have others had this?
It has the school logo so is probably fine so maybe I'm being paranoid.

It's an educational app for schools. Your school may have signed up to it.

UlezSchmulez · 04/09/2023 19:04

Yeah I have used the app and I know Satchel One is legit.
It's just the URL in the link looks suspicious.

dandlmum · 04/09/2023 19:06

I have had the same email this eve and am also suspicious because as far as I know
i am already logged on? I’m ignoring it for now!

BeMoreBarbie · 04/09/2023 19:07

But you've removed the link so we can't see if it looks suspicious?!

It doesn't sound like a scam if you've signed up to a new app recently. If you haven't, it may be a scam.

UEAparent2020 · 04/09/2023 19:13

If you open the satchel app there is a message saying you need to verify your email address before you can continue. There's a link there to have the email resent.
I just tested this and it's the same as the email sent earlier.
Also the sender email address matches emails they have sent in the past so it looks legit!

Thanks, that's reassuring.
I removed the link in case anyone clicked and it was dodgy.
It contained 'vdnwjk7j' where I would have expected SatchelOne or something similar.

I've just had one too and I haven't clicked it because my dd has left school now and I did wonder why I would have been getting it. The school doesn't usually make mistakes like that.

I have just tried opening the app and didn’t receive that message

Tinytigertail · 04/09/2023 19:36

I've had it, I haven't used it for ages so followed the steps to log on and it seems ok.

That does sound dodgy to be honest. Can you open the app ok? If you can - presumably it is a scam.

Ha ha - I tell a lie. I have now just received that same message so presumably legit. HOWEVER my email was from [email protected] not a random list of letters.

Oblomov23 · 04/09/2023 19:53

I had 2 emails. Both from satchel though. So I didn't realise it was a scam. Bugger!

Lemonsole · 04/09/2023 19:53

I had one - I'm a bit suspicious as my child has now left the school

Sleepthief · 04/09/2023 20:03

I logged in to satchelone earlier, but not through the app and no messages or problems logging in... I have just had the same email though. - definitely feeling wary of it 🤔

Kellioo · 04/09/2023 20:06

Oh I've just done it. I had an email to say to verify my email, also had a message come up when I opened the app.

Hopefully it's legit 😬

FannyFifer · 04/09/2023 20:13

I got the email as well & did wonder.

cocksstrideintheevening · 04/09/2023 20:19

I've got it too am ignoring it, I'm still logged in in the app

My email was also from :[email protected]/.
It was the link within the email, to complete verification that looked dodgy

CatsOnTheChair · 04/09/2023 20:35

Yep, I've had one that I'm studiously ignoring, and the app is working currently.

BettySundaes · 04/09/2023 21:12

I had it, clicked link and opened it with the SatchelOne app, didn't seem to require me to do anything else, app opened fine. Assumed its an annual back to school verification check.

slopsan · 04/09/2023 21:40

I had the email but ignored as my satchel one app is working normally.

starlight36 · 05/09/2023 17:14

I ignored it and then my app stopped working snd on the app I had a message that needed to do the verify email that they had sent me. It all looked legit when I did it and the app is working again.

menopausalmare · 05/09/2023 17:22

Query it with the school first. During inset we had a phishing/scamming session which shows scams increasing target schools to hold data for ransom, or to the parents to divert school fees or clubs fees to another account.
