Blue Coat Liverpool School, Travel arrangements from Ellesmere Port

I missed the recent Blue Coat Liverpool school open day on the 30th June, however I have applied for my son for the 2024 Y7 entrance exam.

Is anyone in a similar situation? I am not familiar with the local area, does anyone know what is the best transports means are to get to the school from Ellesmere Port please?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I don't know the school OP but unless I am looking at the wrong school, Google suggests it is at least 20 miles by road (obv closer as the crow flies, but the Mersey is a bit wide to negotiate in places!).

Is it somewhere a lot of students go to from your area? Even in a car at a quiet time of day that would take 30-40 mins. I imagine in a school bus (if there is one) it would take a lot longer, more than an hour perhaps if it had to pick up pupils. Public transport looks to be 90 mins - that's far too long imho.

Isn't there are nearer school that you could consider? DH and I both had long journeys to school (not 90 mins tho!) and it was not a good thing - in terms of friends, tiredness and much more. Just a thought.
