Are there any mumsnetters who have recent experiences of either school?

The Wychwood isn't a girls' school any more and will be co ed from September, but has excellent pastoral care (which does mean that it attracts lots of girls who benefit from extra pastoral care). Lots of renovations going on this summer and very recent new head teacher and ownership.

Overall, it's a lovely small, intimate school with a great atmosphere that actively discourages "Gossip Girl" sort of behaviour. Teaching is generally good to excellent.

Feel free to DM me.

I don't know Rye St A personally - it's Catholic, which could be a plus or a minus depending on your persuasion! Seems to be one of the most down to earth and "normal" independents in Oxford, from what I gather.

The ‘Oxford’ girls schools now are:

Rye St Anthony
Headington
Oxford High School for Girls
St Helen’s & St Katherine’s (Abingdon).

FYI There was another thread on Wychwood recently.

Rye has an open day on 20 May. You can probably still attend?
