Secondary School Appeal - information provided to the appeals panel

Hi, is there anyone who can help with a couple of questions about the information the appeal panel has please?
Is the panel provided with the details of all the schools that you had originally applied for?
Will the panel know whether you are appealing to all of the schools?
Do they know which school has been offered if you haven't mentioned it in the appeal?

It differs, I think, by LA. For a normal admissions round, in my LA yes we would usually get a copy of the full application with all schools on it, and yes the offered school would definitely be named on all appeals. We don't get proactively told about other appeals but can ask.

@PatriciaHolm if the panel can see who you applied to and the order? does that ever undermine the case?
For example if you are saying the allocated school doesnt offer xxx and my child really likes it? does the panel ever think - why did you apply for the school if it was so inapproriate?

Panellists appreciate that parents need to apply for a number of schools, and that they are expressing a preference not making a choice - it's always advised that you put a "banker" that you are pretty sure of getting into, even if you don't really want it, on your CAF, for example. So no it wouldn't make any difference.

but panels might consider that you're appealing for 3rd preference school on the grounds that you MUST have the closest school, or NEED an all girls school but have named a far away school or a mixed school higher.
