Kings' School Winchester - a failing school?

Is Kings' School Winchester now a failing school? It hasn't been inspected for 9 years. Please can I hear from a recent parents or pupils please? There is a pervasive narrative based on historic snobbery that it WAS a good school. I am looking for current perspectives, particularly from vulnerable pupils/familes ie SEN or on FSM. Does anyone have experience of HIAS? My perception is that they are lazy and aren't proactive in the area of disadvantaged pupils' outcomes and so are part of the problem of lack of progression among LA maintained schools, which Kings' is. Thanks

Mara You have posted on a few threads recently with negative comments about Kings. You clearly have something specific on your mind. Why not just come out and say it? My guess is you have had a 'disadvantaged' child there and you feel it failed them. What are you hoping to achieve?

I don't know the school personally but took a good interest 10 or so years ago when my eldest started secondary and I had friends choosing Winchester schools. The 'streaming' it had then meant I would never have picked it for my own child.

A school can be a good school but still fail individuals.

But also a school can be a good school for certain groups of children, and an awful one for other groups.

I have looked and the 2022 data shows poor results for disadvantaged pupils as a group. However there is a great big red warning because of Covid.
