Hi,
I'm looking for a sixth form college for my DD to study Art & Design and wondered if anyone knew wether West London College or Morley College are any good? and if so which is better?

Thanks
Shelly

Are you looking at the Level 3 UAL extended diplomas?

Yes I am!

My DD is too, but not for next year. Morley College seems to have lots of options for the UAL level 3 extended diploma but West London only the art pathway? I’m not sure if that matters?

What other options has she got? My DD is wavering between the UAL level 3 and a levels.

Yes mine is the same. Deciding between UAL level 3 or A level - Art, Sociology and undecided on the third one maybe RS or Media studies. She has offer from Hammersmith Academy & WLF (waiting on Chiswick). I'm not 100% sure A levels are right for her (she has ADHD & Dyslexia so l'm sure long lectures, essays, exams is the best way for her to learn). I really like the UAL art course as it's more course work focused, however she's not sure she just wants to do just art/design. Ideal scenario would be a combo of UAL Art/Design and a Sociology A level but I can't find anywhere that offers that.

Oh, I’m pretty sure that a six form near me does an art BTEC (double) level 3 which is equivalent to two A levels and then they can do one actual a level. its called La Swap and is in north London so maybe too far for you? I’m sure there must be others that do similar.

Thanks, looked it up, looks perfect but too far. I'm going to have another look and see if any of the colleges nearer to me offer this combo. Thanks!
