any thoughts or suggestions to help with decision making with Luckley House School

i am the point of making the decision for my twins (boy and girl) to start in Luckley House School in September for year 8. i see that they are not very academic and a very small school with great pastoral care - as i have been told.
The thing is - i really do not want to separate them at this early stage, so their school needs to be co-ed and boarding because we are coming from overseas. I am still unsure at the moment so your comments and inputs will help a great deal.

Hi, I have some friends whose children go there and they look very happy.

However, I reckon most of the pupils are day students. I just checked their latest report and found there were only 19 boarders whereas 285 day pupils in 2020. Maybe it is slightly different now but it would be better to ask the school how many boarders are there now especially in your children’s year group. If your twins also stay during the weekends, it’s worth to ask the number of full boarders and which activities the school offer to them.

Have you checked Lord Wandsworth? It’s much bigger and more than half children are boarders. It’s also a popular school offers good pastoral care.

I've had several friends whose children are at or were at Luckley. All, without exception loved it and thrived but all were day pupils. It seems particularly nurturing for those who struggle in school as well as encouraging real high flyers

I was happy to come across this thread. Wondering what you decide @Blueocean123 as we are also considering Luckley House for our two girls. Our eldest will go into year 9 and we will have to find a primary school for our youngest (Year 6) for next year and then move her across in Year 7. We are also moving from overseas, very last min. Luckly House informed us that they had space at least so if we really can’t get them into any other good state schools at this late stage or other independent schools that we were considering, it will have to be this one. We will also look to live in Wokingham and my husband will commute to Chiswick. I’d love to hear what you decided or if you’ve found another school you would recommend. Our girls are creative so we are looking for schools that focus on the creative arts and design.

Any ideas/suggestions on Leighton park school or Cranleigh? We are looking for a coed day school for my son, and we have moved lately to UK and we are in the stage of understanding the school offerings, academics and design/ICT lessons. How would you see these schools? Any experience and ideas are much appreciated , thanks in advance
