Aylesbury Grammar - thoughts on pastoral care

DS has an EHCP and there's some jiggery pokery going on with his secondary school allocation. AGS wasn't his first choice so not sure why they've said he's going there and waiting for the LA to get back to me. Until then would really appreciate recent experience of their pastoral care, esp for ADHD lack of organisation issues and some social struggles...

If relevant he's super bright, just needs LOTS of managing in order to get the best out of him and am a bit concerned about his transition to secondary.

Did I pick a bad time to ask?

Doubt it but you've picked one school out of thousands! You'll need to bump it again I would imagine

@CatMattress
Im assuming you wanted the Floyd? I’m slightly surprised you have Aylesbury Grammar too. In your case you would surely be able to ask for a transition meeting. The issue might be the ECHP. Did you not have any discussions with the LA about his next phase of education? The plan will need amending. Maybe AGS is deemed to be a better fit for his needs as they see more DC like him? It’s a guess but why not ask the LA?

Actually had Royal Latin down (DS choice). We're roughly between the two. We're waiting for people to get back to us as the notification was dropped with no explanation except that transport would be provided which makes me think the Royal Latin turned him down due to his needs but AGS reckon they can manage.

We only moved to the area right before the start of term, and discussions have been had with his primary, who talk to the send team at the council, which is why I'm a bit baffled as i thought we'd sorted it all out.
