It looks like the new head (from September) is lined up, just has to hand in and work their notice.

I appreciate that the management/governors have to move forward in the interest of the pupils, but it seems so quick. Like Emma was never there.

The article mentions Emma throughout. And it’s September 2024, so still a year and a half away.

It's a very good article explaining the thinking of the Governing board/SLT.

It's an interim appointment try bring stability in a very difficult time. He's extremely experienced & i think was right to reference steering the college the way Emma would have wanted (insofar as it's possible to know). Hopefully will be able to support staff & students well, it's a tough role to take on but as someone else said, the school has to have a Head...

My mistake then. I thought they had someone lined up to start this September.

It’s an interim appointment starting almost immediately (1 March) for 18 months. That should allow this very experienced Head to steady the ship and give the Governors time to embark on a full-scale appointment process for a new Head that’ll want to take it on permanently. Or that’s how I read the article anyway.
Good decision in my view
