Sociology GCSE in a year? Or another subject?

Hello
DD has to choose an 2 GCSEs to complete in a year - one of which is Food Tech which she is doing fine with. September's option is Sociology which will run alongside all the other core subjects and which she will take exams for in 2024.

She is completely new to Sociology. She's reasonably bright (predictions are 5s, 6s and a couple of 7s) - however she's not big on studying and definitely doesn't have a passion for learning!

I'm worried that the Sociology GCSE will be a big stretch in a year and wondering if it's worth asking it she could switch to something else (options could be Religious Studies, Child Development, Business or Art.

Any thoughts? Thanks

When I went to Sixth Form I chose Sociology as an A level but hadn't studied it at GCSE. I took the GCSE at the end of the first year. I didn't think it covered too much and for me it was doable in a year.
