Grammar schools to possibly apply for if living in Guildford

Hi,
I would like to know which grammar schools you can apply for if you live in Guildford? This is for my DD who is currently in Year 4. Any suggestions for schools which I can apply for which has good transport link from Guildford?

I can't recall anyone ever having got into a state grammar school from Guildford apart from possibly a sixth form place. It's less the commute (as some are doable) and more I'm pretty sure that you will be too far away to get a place as compared with other applicants. I might be wrong and several go to the likes of Tiffin or the Readings ones...........but I've never heard of anyone doing it.

I think Wilsons School in the London Borough of Sutton doesn’t have a catchment area (or distance not a factor in offers) but that would be one heck of a journey from Guildford

The Sutton Grammars all have a certain amount of out of catchment spaces where it doesnt matter where you live. Nonsuch and Wallington Girls are quite a commute though

Yeah, I don't think any are really close enough for the commute to make any sense. As already pointed out, application to the Sutton schools would be perfectly possible, just not desirable in terms of actual attendance.

If you live in an area like Guildford or most of East Anglia with no grammar schools the secondary state schools are better at catering for all abilities. Guildford has some very good secondary schools although I think some may be religious.

Kids from Guildford don't go to state grammars. It's just too far to commute! Plenty of good choices in the area, comprehensives and private.
