Where to buy school uniform for tall skinny boys

I'm trying to order trousers for my teen ds, who is growing upwards fast, but is very lean. His measurements are 22" waist, 32" inside leg.

His existing trousers are 26" waist and 30" inside leg. The waist is on elastic with four inches of bunched up fabric which he hates. In terms of length they are already up round his ankles.

To get 32" inside leg, I have to order 28" waist from the supplier, which is ridiculous. I've tried Trutex but they aren't any better. M&S do extra long but are out of stock. I've tagged them to let me know if they come back into stock.

Is there a supplier who does longer lengths? Short of going to a tailor, I can't see any other options.

I cant work out age based on the
Measurements given.

But for my DS i buy next flat front slim
Leg slim fit. Has to be the double slim. On anything else the waist bunches up awfully. The sizing is not generous so i go up in age.

ASDA do a long range…they work for DS1 who has an age 7 waist and age 10 leg length.

M&S skinny leg skinny waist extra long in this house.

Thanks @delurkingaj and @magaluf1999 I'll try both.

M&S super skinny, extra long worked for us, though the waist was still cinched in the legs looked good. If you need black trousers, I'd be happy to send you ds's no longer needed ones to tide you over till M&S have stock again. Thankfully mine will be in sixth form and able to wear his own trousers and shirts.

GuyFawkesDay · 10/07/2022 13:11

M&S ones for us too.

You don’t say how old but Next do black suit style trousers in a longer length. Ds1 needed 34 leg for his prom and I think they were ok.

I feel your pain tho op - ds1 is now 23 and even taller, but still skinny - his ideal trouser fit is 30 waist 38 leg. He sometimes gets lucky at ASOS so try there.

I have no idea why manufacturers such as Nike don’t make trousers for tall skinnies. You’re not necessarily broad as well as tall.

I always bought the extra long slim fitted with adjustable waists from M&S. The added bonus was that they have a double hem so that you can add an extra 3cm to the length later on in the school year. Think I may have got two school years out of some pairs.

FrangipaniBlue · 10/07/2022 16:19

I have one of these, has been the same since primary!!

Next slim leg/skinny fit are all that fits him

Titsflyingsouth · 10/07/2022 17:14

Another vote for M&S Skinny long leg.

knackeredagain · 10/07/2022 17:18

I always bought DSs from Next. They do a slim fit in tall. He still had to tighten the elastic fastening but they were the best fit available.

John Lewis have saved the day year in year out for me with a tall skinny DS. Elastic adjustable waist, can buy slim fit and they have a long leg length. In general I've found their length to be really generous so it may suit for you.

Asda are hopeless for slim children because the waists are huge! And the leg lengths not generous at all.

LargeLegoHaul · 10/07/2022 19:01

M&S extra long here too.

AccountHere · 10/07/2022 19:36

We get ours from David Luke - they have an extra long version

Sweetleftfood · 11/07/2022 10:19

M&S or Dunnes stores if you have one around. My DS is tall and skinny and absolutely hate baggy school trousers so we have found some good ones there

This place will adjust trousers to fit your son. Quite expensive though.
