We need to move from our flat in Islington due to some health issues and problems with the flat and local area. We are considering Highams Park for more nature and quiet and my partner does some of his work there. One of my concerns is around secondary schools. My oldest is in year 4 in Sept so I have time but don't want to move somewhere and then have a problem in 2 years time. We can't seem to afford to move within Islington and will get more space in Waltham Forest. Need to be either in Walthamstow or HP for travel purposes. I need to travel to Highbury & Islington 1 day a week and my partner also at various times. Can anyone give me any insight on what the primary and secondary schools are like in those two areas? I suspect there are quite a few good primaries in both. HP seems to have less choice for secondary. I have two girls, one going into reception and the other into year 4. I'm keen for extra curricular activities and not a narrow focus on English and Maths. The older child is quite academic and likes science and maths. The younger has some special needs /disability and may need extra help/tolerance! Any insights are welcome! Does Walthamstow still feel busy like Islington? Looking at the Village or Lloyd Park areas to rent. Can't seem to find any properties in HP? Thanks in advance!
