Simon Singh (author of The Simpsons and their Mathematical Secrets among other books) and founder of the Parallel maths website parallel.org.uk with weekly activities for bright mathematicians is starting a free weekly online 'maths circle' event where you can watch and interact with him and guest speakers.

Events will be for 9-11, 11-13, 13-16 and 16-18 year olds, starting this Sunday 12th June.

Kids just need to sign up for a free account and then log in at the right time. No tickets needed. parallel.org.uk/circles

Are these classes open to everyone or socially selected like his Maths Masterclasses?

(Sorry, feeling bruised. My DS was nominated by his school for the Masterclass, but weeded out of the selection process in favour of a boy less good at maths, and less interested, but who could tick the BME box. He is also far wealthier, and tutored, so it was difficult to see him as the more deserving selectee. He voluntarily dropped out a few weeks later).
