Hello,

I’d be interested in anyone’s knowledge or opinion on Farnborough Hill school? My daughter is very strong academically and also going for Kendrick but I fear that Kendrick would be too much of a hot house. FH looks lovely but I’d love to hear any inside knowledge.

Thank you!

Bumping also to ask if there are any other recommendations for other independent schools nearby as well (we are Hook/Basingstoke side rather than Guildford side) - thanks!

No personal experience but DD is friends with 2 girls who go to FH and they are both utter delights and seem to really like the school - their parents seem happy with it too.

Thank you, that sounds positive 😊

Nearby is Sherfield (I only have primary experience - bit small which limits choice of both subjects and friends)

St nicks in fleet, don’t know much about. Recently got a new head I think.

Lord Wandsworth, my 2 go here. Enough push for very high achieving DD. Good support and friends for high achieving DS. They are both very happy there.

The obvious difference is Kendrick is state and FH is independent.

Plenty of options for both in the area.

Mine go to sherfield and it’s been excellent . Didn’t have the best reputation a for years back but is now outperforming a lot of those other schools mentioned

In terms of state/private, for various reasons Kendrick is the only state school we are considering, so it’s good to hear about some of the independents, thank you.

Thank you for the replies. It’s interesting to hear the replies about Sherfield - my views are certainly based on how it was a few years ago but perhaps I should give it another look. We didn’t click with St Nicholas unfortunately. Haven’t looked at LW in detail yet but will do. Just really get a good vibe about Farnborough Hill so was hoping others experience match that.
