Dear all

Hope you are well. We are going to move to Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire and we are hoping for a bit of advance.

Can anyone give me any information or reviews of Croxley Danes School, Rickmansworth School and St. Joan Arc Catholic School?

We have a DD 11 years old. She plays oboe and has passed the grade 6 exam.

Any advise will be very much appreciated!

Have you looked at St Clement Danes School, they have Prestigious music mark status? They are based in Chorleywood and linked with Croxley Danes I believe. I have heard good things about all schools but bear in mind St Joan of Arc is a catholic school and one of the admissions requirements is to attend church regularly and you will need this certified by a parish minister or Priest. Perhaps also look at what GCSE subjects they offer as some schools can differ?

I wouldn't touch St Joan's with a bargepole. Visited it, teachers shouting constantly as we walked round. Really awkward to be honest.

Thanks for the advice.

We are a new immigrant family (Christian family), I guess St Joan Arc may not consider our application.

It would be grateful if I would have more information about Rickmansworth School and Croxley Danes School.

Any other advice or suggestions would be great.

If she is already 11 you are not likely to have a choice of school as places are already allocated. Have you contacted the council admissions office or schools to see if there are any vacancies and waiting lists for year 7 (or possibly 8 depending on her dob and when you hope to move)? Until you have an address and are resident you may not have an application processed.

Right now, only Joan of Arc has places in Y7. Information can be found here

You may not have any choice!!!

When you say that tour DD is 11 now, when will she become 12?

From my opinion and experience I wouldn't recommend this school, our experience was horrific, it is not a diverse school, my child was not supported, my child was let down. I'm speaking only from our experience.
