Appeals to Bromley Borough School Darrick Wood. Any advice?!?!

we are in Bromley borough and long story short ended up getting the 3rd choice for our daughter. I am still really hoping to get our first choice. Not to mention the school is much closer than the 3rd choice we ended up getting but also a much better school.

Looked on AdmissionsDay website and we actually fall into the catchment of their 2020 national offers in terms of distance.

We are going forward with the appeals process now so just wondering if anyone has any advice.

Hoping for Darrick Wood Secondary, and got Bishop Justus.

Also if you have any info on BJ as a school this would be really helpful too!
Thanks

We was in a similar situation, previously our 1st choice took students to 1.5m, this year was only to 0.651m (our address is 0.657-so literally just missed out).

your appeal needs to be based around why your child should go to the school you are appealing for, not focused on why you don’t want to go to your allocated school. Does it offer something specific to your child that the other one doesn’t?
the school will claim, they are full, and admitting any extra children will cause over crowding and negative effect on the school/pupils….

good luck

@secondarymum I know this maybe a zombie thread. Did you ever manage to get your space?
We are in the same position, wanted Darrick but got a lower preference
